FACTS The American Conservative Union has for many years given ratings on individual U. S. Congressmen or individual U. S. Senators based on a series of individual votes in each congressional term. On this site, whether or not a Congressman or Senator supported a smaller government was determined from these American Conservative Union ratings of each memberplus an evaluation of their individual votes on government growth issues.
With only two exceptions, all Republican lawyers had ACU ratings of 68 (out of 100) or above. Most were in the 90’s or high 90’s. Michele Bachmann was 100. The two exceptions were ratings of 55 and 56. Their support for smaller government is shown with a smaller typeface of “for”.
Democrat lawyers on the other hand, with only two exceptions, rarely had ACU ratings above 20 (out of 100). Many were 0. The two exceptions were at 72 and 56. Their failure to support smaller government is shown with a smaller typeface of “against”. |
